Job description

We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a successful UK-based franchise operator seeking an experienced HR Manager to support their multi-site operations.

The Opportunity:

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong working relationships with operational leaders. With employee relations forming the core focus of the role, we're looking for someone who can quickly establish themselves as a trusted advisor and make an immediate impact.

The role is heavily focused on employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management cases, while also supporting key HR processes, documentation, policy development and projects. We are looking for a confident HR professional who can quickly build credibility with managers and provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

  • Manage disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance, conduct and absence cases.
  • Lead investigations, gather evidence, conduct interviews and prepare case documentation.
  • Support managers through formal hearings and employee meetings.
  • Provide practical, commercially focused advice on employment law, policies and HR best practice.
  • Handle complex and sensitive employee relations matters with confidence and professionalism.
  • Travel to sites across the UK to support investigations and operational HR matters.

Generalist HR

  • Prepare employment contracts, contract amendments and promotion documentation.
  • Support the review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Assist with HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues across the wider HR function.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR experience.
  • Confident advising operational managers at all levels and making sound, commercially focused decisions that balance business needs with employee wellbeing.
  • Strong hands-on employee relations experience with the ability to manage cases independently.
  • Previous experience within a multi-site operational environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Strong communication, investigation and report-writing skills.
  • A practical, organised and solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience within food & beverage, hospitality, retail or FMCG environments would be highly advantageous.
  • This is a fully office-based role in Wolverhampton, working five days per week. Regular travel to UK sites will be required.

In return we are offering:

  • Competitive salary between £48,000 - £50,000 per annum based on experience.
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • 28 days inclusive of bank holidays
  • An opportunity to join a successful and growing UK franchise operator with a multi-site national presence.
  • Take ownership of a varied and complex employee relations caseload.
  • Working closely with senior leaders and operational managers across the business.
  • A broad HR role with exposure to employee relations, policy development and HR projects.

If you're an experienced HR professional with strong employee relations expertise and are ready for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
