Technical Writer | Manassas, VA, United States | On-site

This employer partners with prime contractors providing essential professional services across engineering, software development, logistics, and training. They are known for their commitment to supporting critical defense technologies and are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join their dynamic team.

The Role

  • Research and write technical operations documentation and training content for specialized military equipment, systems, and software.
  • Edit and update existing technical content in response to engineering changes.
  • Create and deliver high-quality technical documentation and training products for submarine sonar systems.
  • Capture and document operational and maintenance information for new technology introductions to the US Navy submarine fleet.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to a diverse range of audiences.

What You'll Need

  • Extensive experience and top-level qualifications with BQQ-10 sonar operations.
  • Ability to write clear, concise language adhering to established standards and conventions.
  • Proficiency in learning system hardware and software changes through engineering documentation and collaboration.
  • Experience writing technical content for procedure and service manuals.
  • Ability to define and create necessary graphics, figures, and drawings, or work with basic graphic applications.
  • Possess or ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (requires US Citizenship).
