DERMS (Distributed Energy Resource Management System) Solution Integrator
Job Description Summary: The DERMS Solution Integrator bridges the gap between a utility's grid operations and thousands of decentralized energy assets such as solar, batteries, and electric vehicles. The role involves designing, building, and configuring the software architecture that connects the central DERMS platform with field devices, aggregation platforms, and enterprise systems.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the implementation of DERMS solutions utilizing the Software Suite.
- Own technical deliverables throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Participate in decisions on architecture, design, and functionality to keep programs on budget, time, and customer expectations.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored strategies through site assessments.
- Recommend workflow, application, interface, reports, testing, and uploads to customers during implementation.
- Ensure go live readiness and provide post live support and checkups, collaborating with internal team members and clients for customer satisfaction.
- Develop in depth knowledge of the technical discipline and execute policy/strategy.
- Apply technical expertise to solve straightforward and complex tasks, proposing alternative solutions with guidance.
- Leverage multiple internal sources to arrive at decisions, troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Provide informal guidance to new team members as an individual contributor.
- Advanced experience in Services & Digital Implementation Services; comparable to a bachelor's degree or relevant high school diploma with experience.
- Design and develop custom adapters, APIs, and microservices to integrate DERMS software into existing middleware.
- Translate and validate client distribution network models, converting model files into CIM and mapping to power flow results.
- Configure grid constraints such as voltage management, local grid load management, and network congestion limits.
- Ensure DERMS platform parses data from varied third party aggregators and edge device languages into a standardized format.
- Prepare, configure, and automate input data (load and generation forecasts) to simulate and test DER planning scenarios.
- Full stack development, backend services, middleware integration (e.g., GE GridOS), Kubernetes, API development, UI/UX.
- Solid grasp of power flow analysis, distribution management systems (DMS), smart inverters, and wholesale market participation.
- Excellent communication skills: facilitate workshops, map client use cases to technical deliverables, and act as translator between business stakeholders and software vendors.
- Ability to work across time zones and respond to contacts outside normal working hours, as required in a global organization.
