Manufacturing Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support aircraft production operations by developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, build plans, and work instructions. In this role, you will serve as a key technical liaison between Engineering and Production, ensuring products are assembled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with design requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment, strong technical problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines to support production goals.
Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret engineering design requirements and evaluate manufacturability.
• Develop, release, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, visual aids, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Production, Tool Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality teams to define and improve manufacturing processes.
• Incorporate engineering drawing revisions and design changes into production documentation and workflows.
• Identify and implement manufacturing methods, tooling requirements, and process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and operator ergonomics.
• Provide hands-on technical support to production personnel by troubleshooting manufacturing, tooling, and process-related issues.
• Investigate nonconformances and support root cause and corrective action activities.
• Develop and deliver process training to manufacturing and support personnel.
• Support safety initiatives related to manufacturing processes, tooling, and work instructions.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, leadership teams, suppliers, and cross-functional partners.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment; OR
• Master's degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR
• PhD in a STEM field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and associated symbols.
• Experience reading and interpreting detail, assembly, and installation drawings.
• Hands-on experience supporting production assembly operations.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including alternate shifts or extended workweeks, as business needs require.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and traversing production equipment as needed.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with wire harness fabrication, cable installation, avionics integration, power distribution systems, or electrical system testing and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of electrical manufacturing processes and production methodologies.
• Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with NX or similar CAD software.
• Experience using SAP, MES, or similar manufacturing systems.
• Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.
• Experience utilizing problem-solving tools such as Five Why Analysis, Pareto Analysis, and Fishbone Diagrams.
• Experience creating, modifying, and maintaining manufacturing work instructions and process specifications.
