Test Lead

A technology services organization is seeking a Test Lead for a hybrid role based in Chicago, Illinois or Houston, Texas.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift


• Schedule: Monday to Friday


• Hours: Standard business


• Setting: Hybrid (at least 3 days per week)


• Locations: Chicago, Illinois or Houston, Texas

Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day QA and test activities for automation initiatives across UI and backend services


• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium WebDriver and API testing tools


• Define test strategies, automation frameworks, and execution plans aligned with project goal


• Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios


• Track test progress, manage defects, report quality metrics, and mentor junior testers

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software testing experience with a focus on automation


• Strong proficiency in Selenium WebDriver, Java or Python, and API testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured


• Experience testing RESTful services and APIs


• Experience creating automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing ones


• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, version control, and defect tracking tools


• Experience working in an agile environment


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with .NET web applications


• Knowledge of SOA test automation frameworks, change management, and release management processes


• Exposure to tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Fiddler, ReadyAPI, UFT, ADO, Jira, Dynatrace, or similar platforms


• Experience with broader automation coverage across web, mobile, desktop, backend APIs, databases, messaging, or cloud technologies
