Job Description

Payroll Specialist (Part-Time) | Essen, Germany | Hybrid We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Payroll Specialist to join a leading innovator in the discount retail sector renowned for its impactful market presence and commitment to digital transformation in HR. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and supporting employees and management with HR-related queries. The Role • Manage the monthly payroll process for various entities, ensuring compliance with all legal, collective bargaining, and company regulations. • Oversee the administration of working time and vacation accounts within the time tracking system. • Prepare employment contracts, references, and digitize employee records into an HR archive. • Advise employees and management on payroll-related matters, including employment law, income tax, and social security. • Act as the primary contact for health insurance providers, social security institutions, and authorities, handling certifications and reporting. • Prepare and reconcile data for accounting purposes, including payroll postings and personnel provisions. • Review and implement changes in payroll regulations, such as legislative updates. • Assist with personnel cost planning and generate regular and ad-hoc analyses of HR key figures. • Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for optimization. What You'll Need • Completed commercial apprenticeship and several years of experience in payroll or personnel administration. • Solid understanding of current employment, income tax, and social security law. • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel. • Familiarity with HR administration and payroll systems; experience with SAP HCM or P&I Loga is desirable. • High level of commitment, service orientation, initiative, and independent working style. • Strong teamwork, reliability, and resilience. • Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills. • Interest and enthusiasm for digital HR transformation.
