About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced project Planner to support capital projects, outage planning, and project execution activities at a nuclear generating station. This role is responsible for developing detailed work packages, coordinating project schedules, and ensuring work is planned safely, efficiently, and in compliance with plant requirements.
This position plays a critical role in supporting project implementation by partnering with project managers, project leads, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to prepare work for successful execution. The ideal candidate brings a strong planning background, technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
This position is located onsite at a nuclear generating station and requires access to protected plant areas.
Candidates must be able to successfully complete:
Additional hours, including extended shifts, may be required during outage periods. Limited overtime is typically expected outside of outages.
Per diem assistance may be available for qualified candidates requiring temporary relocation.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed work packages for maintenance, modification, and capital project activities.
- Support outage and online project planning efforts from initiation through execution.
- Create, maintain, and manage project schedules and planning deliverables.
- Review engineering documents, drawings, procedures, and technical specifications to support work package development.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, maintenance personnel, and operations teams to ensure work readiness.
- Identify resource requirements, tooling needs, sequencing, and execution constraints.
- Utilize Maximo or comparable work management systems to develop and track work activities.
- Monitor planning progress and proactively identify scheduling risks and conflicts.
- Ensure planning documentation meets site, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and schedule commitments.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of planning experience in nuclear, power generation, utilities, industrial manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience developing detailed work packages and planning documentation.
- Strong written communication and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required site access authorizations and fitness-for-duty requirements.
- Nuclear industry experience.
- Electrical or Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) background.
- Mechanical maintenance or planning experience.
- Engineering degree or technical engineering background.
- Experience using Maximo or similar enterprise asset management/work planning systems.
- Experience supporting outage planning and execution.
- Utility, energy, or power generation industry experience.
