We have an opening available for a Travel Field Service Technician
Contract-to-hire and will be covering the Midwest territory, so candidates must be within 75 miles of Chicago, IL (Tinley Park to be exact).
This role requires up to 90% travel, will be provided a company vehicle so many of the locations they will be traveling to will be driving distance, with some requiring flights every now and then. Please make sure candidates have a valid Drivers License. We also want candidates with prior experience working with low voltage electrical.
Field Service Technician II

Role Overview
This role supports fixed gas and flame detection product lines by performing installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, and repair work at customer sites. The technician will work independently, manage customer relationships, schedule and quote service work, and complete all necessary documentation for billing and compliance. The technician will primarily be responsible for the Midwest territory and will travel to job sites within their assigned region.

Role Overview

The technician will primarily be responsible for the Midwest territory and will travel to job sites within their assigned region.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and commission gas and flame detection systems.
- Travel throughout the Midwest to support customers at various industrial sites, including manufacturing plants, hospitals, wastewater facilities, and refineries.
- Perform calibrations and create detailed service reports.
- Communicate directly with customers to manage service jobs from initiation to completion.
- Prepare quotes for work, schedule jobs, and complete related administrative tasks.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and company-provided equipment.
- Work independently from a home office when not performing fieldwork.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3+ years mechanical, electrical or electronic experience.
- Minimum 1+ year field experience as a service technician.
- Demonstrated background in low-voltage electrical systems (24V DC).
- Experience in a field service or industrial maintenance capacity.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively as required by customer needs.
- Proven ability to work independently and in customer-facing situations.
- Developed troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Experience in military electrical, automation, or controls fields is beneficial.
- Background with HVAC/R, Client, Emerson, or Johnson Controls systems is considered a strong asset.
- Associate degree in electronics or a related technical field OR equivalent military training.
