Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Application Developer to support enterprise applications within an IBM z/OS environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, VSAM, CICS, and TSO/ISPF. This position involves application development, enhancement, testing, debugging, production support, and troubleshooting in a large-scale Mainframe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, maintain, test, and debug Mainframe applications.

• Design and implement application solutions based on business and technical requirements.

• Develop and maintain COBOL programs and related Mainframe components.

• Create, modify, execute, and troubleshoot JCL and batch jobs.

• Work with DB2 and IMS/DB databases.

• Develop and support online applications using CICS and/or IMS/DC.

• Work with VSAM files and datasets.

• Perform application testing, debugging, code validation, and implementation activities.

• Troubleshoot application issues, batch failures, and production incidents.

• Perform root-cause analysis and assist with production issue resolution.

• Monitor and improve application and batch-processing performance.

• Maintain technical documentation related to application changes and support activities.

• Collaborate with development, QA, database, infrastructure, and business teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience in Mainframe Application Development.

• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL.

• Strong experience with JCL and Mainframe batch processing.

• Experience working in IBM z/OS environments.

• Hands-on experience with DB2.

• Experience with IMS/DB.

• Experience with VSAM.

• Experience with CICS and/or IMS/DC.

• Working knowledge of TSO/ISPF.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience supporting enterprise production applications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with REXX.

• Exposure to PL/I or Assembler.

• Experience with large-scale enterprise Mainframe applications.

• Experience with both batch and online transaction processing.

• Familiarity with enterprise development, testing, release, and change-management processes.
