RPA Developer

Role Purpose

An experienced RPA Developer responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying and supporting robust automation solutions within HMRCs Automation Platform Service. The role combines hands-on technical delivery with stakeholder engagement, working as part of a multidisciplinary digital consultancy team.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Development

• Design and build scalable, maintainable RPA solutions against complex business processes and enterprise applications using NiCE Designer Platform.
• Integrate automations with applications, APIs, databases and other enterprise services.
• Implement robust exception handling, logging, monitoring and recovery.
• Develop reusable components and automation patterns to support platform-wide consistency.

Testing & Deployment

• Diagnose and resolve defects and technical issues.
• Deploy automations through controlled Development, Test and Production environments.
• Produce technical, testing and deployment documentation.
• Support transition into live service and ongoing production operations.

Essential Experience & Skills

• 3+ years' commercial RPA development experience, ideally within a complex enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience with NiCE RPA platform and full automation lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of RPA architecture, workflow design, exception handling, queues, scheduling, logging and monitoring.
• Experience integrating RPA with APIs, databases and enterprise applications.
• Good software engineering fundamentals including modularity, reusable components, source control and structured development.
• Strong stakeholder communication and the ability to work effectively within a blended consultancy/client team.

Desirable

• Previous HMRC, UK Government or regulated-sector experience.
• Relevant NiCE RPA platform certifications.
