HR Manager

FT Recruitment has been asked to partner with our engineer client as they look to hire an HR Manager to lead the full people function within their growing organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking to combine hands-on HR leadership with the opportunity to influence culture, employee engagement and wider business performance.

Key Duties:

• Lead the full HR function, working closely with senior leadership to deliver the people strategy.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning.
• Provide support across employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence matters.
• Ensure employment law compliance and maintain effective HR policies and processes.
• Coach and support managers, providing practical and commercially focused HR advice.
• Oversee payroll liaison and HR systems.
• Lead learning and development, employee engagement and culture initiatives.
• Develop competency frameworks, succession plans and organisational development initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and ways of working.

This position will suit an experienced HR professional who is confident working independently and influencing positive change. You’ll have strong employee relations and employment law knowledge, experience handling complex people matters and a proven ability to coach and challenge managers effectively. Experience leading a standalone HR function or operating in a senior HR role with significant autonomy is important, alongside strong recruitment, workforce planning, communication and stakeholder management skills. A pragmatic and commercially minded approach is essential. Experience within manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, construction or another operational environment would be advantageous.
