Job Description

Calling all Tax Professionals: Do you pride yourself on your ability to manage complexities and serve clients? Do you enjoy collaborating across teams? If so, Fisher Investments is looking to grow and scale our Private Client Group (PCG) Tax consultation team by adding new Client Tax Accountants. This role plays an important part in delivering comprehensive white glove service to the Client, carefully coordinated with Investment Counselors and other client-facing employees and teams.

The Opportunity:

As a Client Tax Accountant, you will work to provide general tax services to US PCG Clients. Working in close collaboration with our Financial Planning Services group, you will provide tax planning consultation as well as tax prep, filing, and compliance to Fisher Private Clients. This role works independently to manage all aspects of tax work, including ensuring tax work is filed correctly and in compliance with all applicable deadlines and requirements.

The Day-to-Day:
  • Work directly with High Net Worth (HNW) clients on end-to-end tax needs
  • Prepare federal, state, and local individual income tax returns and related filings, including Forms 1040, utilizing information reported on Forms W-2, 1099's, K-1's, and other tax reporting documents
  • Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
  • Meet with HNW clients to complete intake, advise on tax strategies and holistic tax planning, and provide tax advice within approved frameworks
  • Identify and create tax strategies to minimize taxation
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations
  • Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work
  • Stay updated with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • At least 4+ years of direct tax experience
  • Certified Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent, or equivalent designation required
  • Strong client-facing presence
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast paced, team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Familiarity with tax preparation software, CCH Axcess strongly preferred
