z/OS Systems Programmer (HBITS-08-14999) – Albany, NY 12240 (3 days onsite per week)

Hi,

We are currently hiring for the z/OS Systems Programmer role (Job ID: HBITS-08-14999) with one of our clients in Albany, NY. As a prime vendor to New York State, we support their HBITS (Hourly-Based IT Services) requirements.

Position Details:

• Title: z/OS Systems Programmer
• Duration: 30 Months
• Location: Albany, NY 12240 (3 days onsite per week)
• Interview Mode: Single round, Virtual

Job Responsibilities:

This individual will be expected to participate in the following activities:

• Perform problem determination and resolution.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery tests.
• Participate in On-call rotation.
• Perform security health checks.
• Participate in Audits.
• Participate and as required, manage activities related to the installation, customization and management of the zOS operating system.
• Coordinate activities with support staff to ensure appropriate support is provided.
• Proactively monitor networks, working with the Enterprise Network teams and developers to identify, manage and correct issues.
• Work independently to diagnose and correct problems as they arise within the system.
• Mentor state staff.
• Monitor CICS regions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 84 months of experience maintaining and administering a multi-region CICS plex.
• 84 months of experience performing problem diagnostics and resolution in a z/OS environment.
• 84 months of experience fine-tuning z/OS performance parameters.
• 84 months of experience analyzing z/OS abend dumps.
• 12 months of experience with RACF security administration.
• 72 months of experience with Omegamon.
• 24 months of experience maintaining and operating MQ subsystems.
