The Role

  • Research, develop, and produce high-quality technical documentation, guidance materials, and reports related to national airspace systems, policies, and operational concepts.
  • Translate complex technical, operational, and procedural information into clear, accurate, and accessible content for diverse audiences including engineers, air traffic specialists, and policy leaders.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and program staff to gather, interpret, and verify technical information.
  • Draft, revise, and edit manuals, specifications, reports, articles, and presentation materials, ensuring compliance with relevant documentation standards.
  • Apply expertise in aviation terminology, national airspace operations, and flight procedures to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory alignment.
  • Support the development and maintenance of electronic publications and digital content as required.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field, and 5+ years of experience; OR High school diploma and 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience producing or editing aviation regulatory documentation or related technical publications in aviation or aerospace.
  • Proven ability to interpret and synthesize complex technical data and operational procedures into clear, concise, and accurate documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing content for federal aviation programs.
  • Strong command of grammar, style, and technical writing conventions; familiarity with government style guides.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant documentation tools.
