Job description

Our banking client is currently looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Engineer with 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and optimizing real-time, low-latency data processing platforms. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Java, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, streaming technologies, and data engineering frameworks to build scalable solutions capable of processing high-volume data changes with minimal latency.

This role requires hands-on experience in developing enterprise-grade backend applications that capture, process, transform, and distribute real-time data across multiple systems while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of backend application development experience using Java.
  • Experience building ultra-low-latency systems (
  • Experience handling systems processing millions of events/transactions daily.
  • Real-time data synchronization across multiple platforms.
  • Strong expertise in low-latency application design and performance optimization.
  • Proven experience with Kafka, event streaming, and asynchronous architectures.
  • Experience implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions using Debezium or similar technologies.
  • Experience with cloud-native application development.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design and develop highly scalable, low-latency, fault-tolerant backend applications using Java.
  • Build real-time data processing solutions for high-volume transactional systems.
  • Develop event-driven architectures using messaging and streaming technologies.
  • Design and implement microservices-based applications using Spring Boot.
  • Optimize application performance through profiling, tuning, and efficient resource utilization.
  • Develop APIs and backend services supporting sub-second response times.
  • Architect distributed systems with high throughput and minimal latency.
  • Implement resilient systems using caching, asynchronous processing, and circuit breaker patterns.
  • Perform code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Strong experience in Java 17+
  • Solid experience with Spring Boot, Microservices
  • Experience in working with Dynatrance, Splunk, Grafana
  • Expertise in Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect
  • Expertise in Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions using Debezium or similar technologies.
  • Real Time Streaming & Event-Driven architectures
  • Performance engineering concurrency & JVM tuning
  • SQL & Data Engineering Fundamentals
  • Kubernetes, Docker & CI/CD Pipelines
  • Cloud Platform Experience (Azure, Aws, Google)
  • Experience in Latency analysis and optimization
  • Excellent English communication skills
