Job Description

Manufacturing engineer with 5–7 years of experience. Has independently designed at least one manufacturing process from blank sheet through SOP for a real product. Owns deliverables end-to-end and operates with minimal supervision.

Demonstrates solid command of process engineering fundamentals, DfM, P-FMEA, and at least foundational experience with KPIs, MES, and CI.

Independently designs end-to-end manufacturing processes for a product or major sub-assembly. Owns the full PFD, station layout, tooling specs, and BOP from blank sheet through SOP.

Conducts time studies independently. Builds operator loading charts, identifies bottlenecks, and iterates the line balance to meet takt. Quantifies throughput impact of layout changes.

Owns the manufacturing engineering deliverables across all gates for their product. Drives readiness reviews and escalates risks that threaten gate passage.

Leads the transition from hand-build to repeatable production. Defines criteria for "production-ready." Writes assembly work instructions.

Conducts independent DfM reviews with quantified before-and-after impact analysis (cycle time, yield, cost). Proposes alternative design solutions — not just problems.

Performs tolerance stack-up analyses and feeds results back into design. Specifies inspection methods (CMM, vision, go/no-go) based on tolerance criticality.

Owns and facilitates the P-FMEA for their product. Drives action items to closure. Maintains it as a living document linked to control plans.

Designs complex fixtures and specifies tolerance, materials, and surface treatments. Validates performance with GR&R or functional testing. Manages fixture vendors.

Designs and implements traceability systems for their product scope. Defines serialization, data capture points, and database/MES integration. Has used traceability data for root-cause analysis.

Defines, tracks, and improves KPIs for their production scope. Uses OEE breakdown (availability, performance, quality) to target improvements. Identifies degradation trends early from data.

Grounds decisions in metrics and trend analysis. Builds simple analysis tools (Excel, dashboards) to support daily management. Can distinguish signal from noise in production data.

Leads Kaizen events and improvement workshops independently. Applies VSM to identify waste. Implements Poka-Yoke solutions at critical process steps. Quantifies improvement outcomes (before/after).

Leads structured problem-solving efforts independently. Selects the right method for the problem. Drives to verified root cause with data. Documents containment, root cause, corrective action, and effectiveness verification.

Produces DfM reports, FMEA documents, validation reports, and URS to a professional standard. Runs efficient meetings. Communicates trade-offs clearly to engineering peers.

Has designed manufacturing processes for electromechanical products (motors, actuators, sensors, cable harnesses). Understands unique challenges (mixed tolerances, calibration, functional test).

We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer(EEO).
