Civil Engineering Business Development Manager

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Civil Engineering Manager/Business Development leader for a professional, scientific, and technical services client. In this role, you'll oversee civil engineering projects from concept through delivery while driving growth through strategic business development. Responsibilities include leading a small technical team, managing budgets and schedules, preparing proposals, and building long-term client relationships. You'll collaborate closely with leadership on market strategy, mentor junior engineers, and ensure technical quality and regulatory compliance in a flexible, growth-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil engineering projects from planning through completion
• Develop and execute business development strategies to grow client base and revenue
• Prepare and present proposals, qualifications, and technical presentations
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as primary point of contact
• Ensure technical quality, safety, and regulatory compliance on all projects
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff
• Collaborate with leadership on market strategy, forecasting, and pipeline management
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners
• Track KPIs and provide regular project and business development reporting
