We are looking for an experienced AS400 Developer/Admin to support the core IBM i / AS400 environment for the Oklahoma Insurance Department.
🔹 Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on AS400 / IBM i / iSeries development and application support
Strong RPG IV / RPGLE / ILE RPG
Strong CL / Control Language
Strong DB2 for i and SQL
Experience with IBM i work management, subsystems, job queues, and application administration
Experience with user profiles, object-level authority, and application security
Experience with FTP/SFTP and external system integrations
Experience working in a hosted/managed AS400 environment and coordinating with external hosting providers
🔹 Nice to Have
Legacy AS400/IBM i to Cloud migration experience
Data extraction, archiving, or data warehousing experience
Rational Developer for i (RDi)
Public sector or insurance industry experience
Disaster recovery and backup coordination experience
🔹 Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance legacy RPG/RPGLE and CL applications
Troubleshoot application issues, batch jobs, and production problems
Manage DB2 databases, SQL queries, and performance tuning
Support application-level security and IBM i administration
Coordinate with hosting providers for environmental and infrastructure-related activities
Support FTP/SFTP interfaces and data integrations
Assist with legacy data extraction, documentation, archiving, and cloud modernization initiatives
