Linux Server Administrator

Description

We are looking for an experienced Linux Server Administrator to support and be responsible for upgrades, patching servers to reduce vulnerabilities within a live engineering production environment onsite in Centennial, CO. This individual will work closely and at the direction of the senior engineer on the team.

Core Responsibilities

Primary focus: OS-level cybersecurity patching

-- Linux servers (Rocky Linux, CentOS shop)

-- Windows servers (monthly patches)

-- Vendor applications (e.g., Aspera file transfer)

Workflow: log in, patch, reboot, verify, document

Coordinate server reactivation in production under senior supervision

Environment is live broadcast production: caution around downtime is critical

Requirements

• 4-7 years of professional Linux administration experience
• Linux sys admin proficiency (primary non-negotiable)
• Server management experience (Rocky Linux/ CentOS)
• Ability to read vulnerability tickets and propose remediation
• Read vulnerability tickets implement fixes, validate system functionality, and document completed work.
• Experience navigating complex networking and production environments.
• Follows established team procedures, not self-directed
• Must be hands-on practitioner, not an architect or manager.
• Must be willing to execute, not delegate.
• AWS: basic navigation (EC2 access), not a primary requirement
• Monitoring: Grafana heavily used; Splunk, Backtrace listed but secondary
• Scripting (shell or Python): nice to have, not required
