Job Description

Role Summary

The macOS Engineer supports and manages a large-scale Apple device environment, with responsibility for endpoint management, security compliance, software deployment, and device lifecycle operations. This role uses enterprise device management platforms to maintain the performance, security, and reliability of macOS devices. The position collaborates with IT, security, and other technical teams and operates primarily in an onsite environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain macOS devices using enterprise device management platforms, including enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and device or assignment groups.
  • Package, test, validate, and deploy applications across the macOS device environment.
  • Troubleshoot device management, enrollment, configuration, and application deployment issues.
  • Support endpoint security initiatives and established security and compliance requirements within the macOS environment.
  • Create and maintain documentation for application packaging, deployment procedures, device management, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to support device lifecycle management and endpoint strategies.
  • Monitor device health, compliance status, and software deployment results.
  • Support automation initiatives related to macOS administration, device management, and software delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve endpoint management issues within a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve macOS management workflows, operational processes, and security practices.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience administering macOS devices using enterprise device management platforms such as Workspace ONE UEM and Jamf.
  • Strong experience with macOS application packaging, testing, validation, and deployment.
  • Experience managing device enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and device or assignment groups at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mobile device management (MDM), enrollment, configuration, and endpoint management issues.
  • Strong understanding of macOS operating system functionality, security frameworks, and device configuration.
  • Scripting and automation skills supporting macOS administration and software deployment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing changing priorities and technical requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
  • Familiarity with configuring macOS devices for specialized use cases, such as thin-client or kiosk environments, is preferred.
  • Experience with tools and capabilities such as AutoPkg, Jamf Extension Attributes, or comparable endpoint reporting and automation technologies is preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite as required by the position.

Publishing Pay Range: $75.00 - $78.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
