The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager to strengthen risk oversight within a financial services business.
Working within the second line of defence, you'll support the development of risk frameworks, monitor risk appetite, identify emerging risks and provide independent challenge to support effective decision-making.
You'll work closely with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Treasury and the wider business, helping embed strong risk management practices.
Location: Bristol - hybrid working, with two days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Support second-line oversight across enterprise, financial and operational risk.
- Maintain and enhance the Risk Management Framework, Risk Strategy and Risk Appetite Statement.
- Monitor risk exposures, identify emerging trends and assess cross-risk impacts.
- Undertake regulatory horizon scanning and assess potential business implications.
- Provide risk insight and challenge across projects, change initiatives and business activities.
- Produce clear risk reporting to support senior-level decision-making.
- Promote risk awareness and best practice, particularly across Finance and Treasury.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships while maintaining independent oversight.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in financial services, ideally within enterprise, prudential or second-line risk.
- Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, risk appetite, risk strategy and RCSAs.
- Understanding of the three lines of defence model.
- Ability to identify interconnected risks and turn analysis into practical recommendations.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior stakeholders.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
