Are you a skilled Solutions Architect who enjoys turning business needs into secure, scalable and practical technology solutions? If so, this could be the role for you.
Alongside the interests and challenges of the role, we know that candidates also want to be enthused about the mission and values of the organisation they might be joining.
IStructE is a charity and the professional body for structural engineers. We have a global membership who have designed many of the worlds iconic structures as well as many of the buildings and bridges we take almost for granted in our daily lives.
Creating safer structures for the benefit of the public is at the heart of our remit, and this includes environmental sustainability, with structural engineers and the Institution at the heart of the impact construction has on natural resources and climate change.
We are passionate about inclusion and work hard to help those with talent, irrespective of background, to find and develop a route into the profession. Many of our members work to support the worlds most vulnerable communities, especially those living in places prone to natural hazards such as earthquakes and extreme flooding.
If working as part of a staff team of about 80 people and alongside many of our members to address these issues appeals to you, then we would love to hear from you.
The Role
As our Solutions Architect, you'll play a key role in shaping the Institution's technology landscape, designing end-to-end solutions that support our Enterprise Transformation portfolio.
Working closely with colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers, you will provide technical leadership, ensure solutions align with the Institutions standards and security requirements, and help deliver innovative technology that supports our mission to lead and advance structural engineering worldwide.
To be shortlisted for this post, you must have:
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- Experience in solution architecture or technical leadership within digital or technology projects, designing end-to-end technical solutions
- Experience designing solutions and integrations for enterprise-level systems, producing solution-level architecture documents and diagrams
- Experience working with cloud platforms and modern SaaS solutions
Experience in a membership, charity or regulated environment would be advantageous.
What we can offer you:
- 25 days paid annual leave (rising with service) plus bank holidays and flexi leave
- A pension scheme with up to 9% employer contributions
- Life Insurance
- Private Medical Insurance
- Permanent Health Insurance
- Health Cash Plan
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Season Ticket Loan
- Cycle to Work Scheme
- Continuous Professional Development
- Salary Progression
Working Conditions:
We are based on the edge of the city, our office is bright, modern and open plan. We are an inclusive and friendly workforce.
