Job Description

Mechanical Engineer / Plumber | Windsor | Up to £40,000 | Permanent | 37.5hrs

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer / Plumber to join a well-established facilities and engineering team based in Windsor. This is a full-time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday 07:00–15:00.

The Role

You'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and mechanical/plumbing maintenance across the site, ensuring equipment and building services remain safe, reliable and fully operational.

The role is predominantly PPM-based, with some reactive maintenance and fault-finding required as and when issues arise.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across mechanical and plumbing systems

  • Completing reactive maintenance and fault-finding when required

  • Attending to plumbing, mechanical and building services issues

  • Ensuring all planned and reactive work orders are completed to a high standard

  • Identifying potential faults and issues before they become major problems

  • Supporting the wider facilities team with general mechanical maintenance

  • Maintaining accurate records of completed works and reporting any issues

  • Working safely and in accordance with site procedures, Health & Safety legislation and relevant regulations

  • Providing a professional and reliable service to the site and its occupants

What You'll Need

  • Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing or a related discipline

  • Time-served apprenticeship or relevant industry experience

  • Strong plumbing and mechanical maintenance experience

  • Good understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

  • Confident fault-finding and reactive maintenance skills

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and relevant regulations

  • Knowledge of L8 Legionella guidelines would be advantageous

  • Good communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
