Position Summary The Quality Contr ol Technician, in collaboration with the Quality Contr ol Manager, is responsible for the successful implementation and sustainment of Solution One's quality management system, enabling the facilities maintenance and repair program supporting United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations in West Texas and New Mexico. This position assists in the development, implementation, and measurement of the quality management system and Zero-Defect initiatives, and ensures that internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party requirements are defined, measured, and continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities Quality Management System
- Assist in the development, implementation, and measurement of the quality management system and Zero-Defect initiatives in support of CBP operations on this program. This includes but is not limited to monitoring of the Quality Contr ol Plan.
- Apply ISO, AS9100, and other respective quality standards and ensure compliance across all business segments.
- Apply Solution One policies, procedures, and standards relevant to the respective program and functional organizations.
- Ensure internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party requirements are defined, measured, and continuously improved.
- Apply the principles of quality science and other qualitative and quantitative methods to drive performance to contract, quality, cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction throughout the program lifecycle. Program and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Program Management, Operations Management, and Supply Chain Management to support production flow and program execution in support of CBP operations.
- Responsible for providing the Government with compliant supplies and services and working with CBP regarding its administration of its Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan.
- Collaborate with quality management system elements, other support functions, and customers to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments.
- Support supplier development and engagement in coordination with Supply Chain Management. Reporting and Performance Measurement
- Operate measurement equipment, document findings, write nonconformance reports, and support the quality management team with data gathering for process improvement and corrective action activities.
- Present monthly report-outs to site and sector management on operations status.
- Establish and maintain quality metrics that measure system effectiveness and identify trends requiring corrective action.
- Drive corrective and preventive action when performance does not meet defined requirements. Qualifications Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in manufacturing technology, industrial technology, or quality management and/or at least three (3) years, however a minimum of five (5) years is preferred, with experience performing quality contr ol technician duties for contracts of similar size and scope.
- Demonstrated experience applying ISO, AS9100, or comparable quality standards.
- Strong interactive skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive tasks to closure in support of business commitments.
- Certifications:
- ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) directly relevant credential; OR
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) is commonly held at technician level; OR
- OSHA 10-baseline safety certification for manufacturing floor roles
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a CBP Background Investigation.
- Experience in large, geographically dispersed, or headquarters-level quality surveillance activities.
- Must possess a current valid state driver's license
Preferred Qualifications Candidates will be highly preferred if they possess demonstrated experience with:
- Defense and aerospace industry experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Certified internal auditor for ISO 9001 or AS9100.
- IBM® TRIRIGA® Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS)
- Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS).
- Accountable Property Systems of Record (APSRs).
- Logistics information system implementation or conversion projects.
- Large-scale incumbent workforce transitions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint). Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at an accelerated pace under emergencies or operational demands.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Requirements include walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items.
- Required to lift and carry weight over 45 pounds.

- Maintain compliance with safety standards, fire protection, environmental laws and compliance with security requirements. Professionalism

- Maintain all required certifications, licenses, and security clearance requirements.
- Represent Solution One Industries professionally while working alongside CBP personnel and government officials.

- Coordinate effectively with CBP stakeholders, contracted workforce, and corporate staff.
