Job Description

Role Summary
A Lead Storage Area Network (SAN) Analyst is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, installation, and ongoing support of SAN infrastructure to ensure optimal storage management across the enterprise. This role involves project coordination, technical leadership, and proactive monitoring to maintain high levels of service availability and performance. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to strategic storage initiatives and support complex SAN environments.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a task force or committee member as approved by the Director of Infrastructure Planning.
  • Perform technical duties within the Storage Management team to enhance SAN function and availability.
  • Monitor daily performance of SAN systems and report system status relative to performance guidelines.
  • Manage all IT storage functions, including planning, configuration, operations, and performance tuning of SAN hardware and software.
  • Analyze and evaluate user requests for SAN storage, technical operations, services, and support.
  • Participate in strategic planning to develop and maintain SAN management processes aligned with organizational goals.
  • Update reporting mechanisms to reflect project progression and system performance.
  • Research, design, and implement SAN components such as software, hardware, security policies, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging SAN technologies to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of SAN infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with SAN design, implementation, operations, and procedures, including configuring, tuning, monitoring, securing, and managing SAN hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, Windows Server, I/O subsystems for Open Systems, network security, and enterprise networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, FTP, and FC.
  • Experience with SAN hardware vendors such as Hitachi and NetApp, as well as Brocade fiber channel switches.
  • Familiarity with storage management tools like ServiceNow and automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Ability to write scripts and utilize tools like CoPilot to facilitate system management and automation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Relevant certifications or professional training in SAN and storage management are a plus.
  • Availability to work remotely and ensure consistent performance and communication.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the specified location.

Publishing Pay Range: $60.00 - $68.00 Hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
