System Administrator - Security Remediation

ROLE SUMMARY:

Research and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities across on-premises and cloud environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, VMware, and related infrastructure. Partner with cybersecurity teams to validate findings, implement technical solutions, and protect production stability through established change management practices. This is a six-month contract with potential for extension or conversion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research, evaluate, and implement remediation solutions for vulnerabilities identified through Qualys, CrowdStrike, and similar security platforms.
• Perform security remediation across server, network, virtualization, and cloud environments.
• Apply security patches, registry modifications, configuration changes, and operating system updates.
• Prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities in coordination with cybersecurity teams.
• Manage and support Windows Server environments across on-premises and Azure infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot server, networking, virtualization, storage, and other infrastructure issues.
• Administer and troubleshoot VMware environments, including virtual servers and virtual desktop infrastructure.
• Follow change control procedures and participate in occasional after-hours maintenance windows for reboots, patching, and infrastructure updates.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or a related field.
• Experience supporting both on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, and virtualization technologies.
• Strong VMware administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience supporting server infrastructure in enterprise environments.
• Ability to research and implement technical solutions for newly identified vulnerabilities.
• Understanding of change control and production support practices.
