Utility - Machining Support

If you are an experienced Utility looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you based in Pasadena, Texas! Candidates will be this position would be responsible for cutting bar stock to the accurate size and specifications, staging materials for jobs, and performing maintenance on the machines. 

Shift: Monday through Friday- 5:00 AM - 1:30PM

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Identify, pull, stage, and maintain inventory of parts and materials using the ERP system.

• Cut bar stock to the accurate size and specifications, staging materials for jobs, and performing maintenance on the machines. 

• Verify materials using PMI and maintain traceability through proper etching and tagging.

• Move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment.

• Support machining operations and day-to-day shop needs, including sandblasting, painting, and spotting lifts.

• Perform routine machine maintenance, including oil changes, coolant checks, and monthly inspections.

• Maintain shop tools, consumables, equipment, and organization, including cabinets, racks, labeling, and material storage.

• Maintain excellent housekeeping in all shop areas by sweeping and emptying all garbage cans, recycle bins, chip hoppers and dumpsters, cleaning oil/coolant spills, and general housekeeping.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• 1+ year of experience

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relations skills.

• Strong computer experience (Microsoft Suite)

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Technical Associate Degree

• Basic machining knowledge (manual lathes & mills)

• ERP experience (SAP, Oracle etc)

• Positive attitude, initiative, and willingness to take on new responsibilities

• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to support machining and shop operations

• Knowledge of analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred
