Job Description
Overview VTG is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to support telecommunications and lawful intercept operations in Fredericksburg, VA. The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of carrier and Internet service provider protocols, along with experience liaising across federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to identify and resolve issues related to lawfully authorized Electronic Surveillance (ELSUR). What will you do?
- Serve as a technical liaison between telecommunication carriers, Internet service providers, and federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to support lawfully authorized ELSUR activities
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to lawful intercept and electronic surveillance operations
- Apply working knowledge of wireless and packet data network technologies to support operational requirements
- Analyze and interpret carrier and ISP protocols to ensure effective coordination and issue resolution
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and technical standards
- Provide technical guidance and support related to telecommunications infrastructure and service provider operations Do you have what it takes?
- Must be a US Citizen with a Top Secret clearance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an applicable field, or equivalent technical experience
- Knowledge of telecommunication carrier and Internet service provider protocols
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local law enforcement processes related to lawfully authorized ELSUR
- Experience utilizing wireless and packet data networks, including GPRS, HSPA, UMTS, LTE, CDMA2000, IMS, IP, SIP, and RTP, in an operational environment
- Minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience within the Telecommunication/Service Provider industry VTG's estimated starting pay range is $76,000-$100,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location.
When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
