This position requires strong hands-on AutoCAD Civil 3D experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers and field personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed design drawings and construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Support improvements to CAD workflows and drafting processes.
  • Collaborate with engineers and field personnel to identify and resolve design or data discrepancies.
  • Provide informal guidance and mentoring to junior drafting staff.
  • Manage assigned drafting projects independently and meet project deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant CAD drafting/design experience in a civil engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is mandatory.
  • Solid understanding of civil design principles, survey data, coordinate systems, and projections.
  • Experience preparing construction plans and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in drafting, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) certification.
  • Experience with utility, water infrastructure, pipeline, or similar civil construction projects.
  • Experience working with Trimble GPS and field survey data.
  • Experience with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
  • Basic scripting or VBA experience.
  • Experience producing as-built/record drawings from field information.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have strong Civil 3D drafting experience combined with a background in civil infrastructure, utilities, water, pipeline, or related construction projects. Candidates should be comfortable working with survey and field data, preparing detailed construction documents, and collaborating with engineers and field teams.

Candidates who can work independently, maintain high drafting standards, and contribute to improving CAD workflows are strongly encouraged to apply.
