About the Role
CBTS is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Engineer - Network Engineering to join our Infrastructure Management team. This role is ideal for a seasoned network professional with deep expertise in enterprise networking, SD-WAN, routing and switching, network security, and large-scale network transformation initiatives.
As a senior technical leader, you will be responsible for designing, governing, optimizing, and securing complex enterprise network environments while serving as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring scalable, resilient, and high-performing connectivity solutions across modern enterprise infrastructures.

Location Requirement: Candidates must currently reside within approximately 1-1.5 hours commuting distance of the local CBTS office/market they support. For this role, candidates must be local to Kentucky or Cincinnati. This position also requires up to 10% to 50% travel to customer sites as part of the job responsibilities.
Salary $68,000 to $102,000/per annum i.e. the range is salary not including bonus.
The compensation range in this posting reflects the Company's good-faith estimate at the time of publication. The applicable base pay range for any individual will be determined based on the candidate's designated primary work location as well as factors including role scope and responsibilities, required qualifications, and the individual's experience, education, skills, knowledge, and performance. Certain positions may also be eligible for additional compensation such as discretionary merit increases, bonuses, or sales-based variable compensation in accordance with applicable plans and role requirements.
Due to U.S. Government requirements applicable to foreign-owned telecommunications providers, non-s may be required to submit to an extensive government agency background check which will necessitate disclosure of sensitive Personally Identifiable Information.

You will play a critical role in ensuring scalable, resilient, and high-performing connectivity solutions across modern enterprise infrastructures.
What You'll Do
- Engineer the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise network architectures across LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, routing, switching, and network segmentation.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting expertise for critical network incidents, performing root cause analysis and driving permanent remediation efforts.
- Lead network transformation projects including upgrades, migrations, lifecycle management, capacity planning, and resiliency improvements.
- Define and enforce network security standards, access controls, and compliance requirements in partnership with cybersecurity teams.
- Implement proactive monitoring, observability, and performance management strategies to improve network reliability and availability.
- Develop and maintain architecture standards, engineering documentation, operational procedures, and implementation guides.
- Act as a senior technical consultant during customer engagements, solution design discussions, vendor interactions, and strategic initiatives.
- Mentor engineers, review technical deliverables, and promote engineering best practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience
- 10-12 years of overall IT experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.
