Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Stamford Vets on a full-time basis.

 

Stamford Vets is a busy and progressive first-opinion & referral practice with a strong focus on patient care, clinical excellence and team wellbeing. Our experienced team consists of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 9 Nurses and 8 Support Team members, creating a collaborative and supportive environment where everyone plays an important role in delivering outstanding care.

 

We are proud to encourage our nurses to fully utilise their skills and knowledge, providing opportunities to take an active role in anaesthesia, inpatient care, nurse consultations, client education and the ongoing development of clinical services within the practice.

 

How You’ll Make a Difference

 

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

 

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

 

Working Pattern

 
* Full-time, 40 hours per week
* Worked over 4 days, Monday to Friday
* 1 in 4 Saturdays paid in addition to weekly hours
* No OOH requirement
 

General Responsibilities

 
* Delivering high standards of inpatient and peri-operative care
* Supporting and monitoring anaesthesia
* Running nurse-led consultations and clinics
* Providing client care, advice and education
* Assisting with diagnostics and patient treatments
* Contributing to the continuous development of clinical services
* Supporting the training and development of colleagues and students where appropriate

* Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
* Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
* A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
