Job Title: Mainframe Technical Developer

Location: Sunrise, FL (Onsite from Day 1)

Job Type: Contract

Experience: 9-14 years

Job Overview

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Mainframe Technical Developer to analyze, design, and build solutions for enterprise-level applications on IBM Mainframe systems. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, with a strong foundation in batch and online processing and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

 
  • Analyze, design, develop, document, and solution mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS
  • Perform requirement analysis, design reviews, and code enhancements
  • Conduct impact assessments and translate technical findings into business rules and process flow diagrams
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements
  • Participate in migration exercises and support mainframe modernization initiatives
  • Provide technical documentation and support for audits
  • Mentor team members and drive process improvements using modern tools and emerging technologies

Required Skills

 
  • COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, IMS DB, SQL
  • Tools: Endevor, Topaz, Control-M or equivalent scheduler exposure
  • Utilities: SORT, IDCAMS, ISPF
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies

Preferred Skills

 
  • REXX automation
  • Familiarity with mainframe migration and modernization
  • Exposure to API integration and microservices concepts
  • Experience integrating with IBM MQ or IBM DataPower

Location & Work Model

 

Sunrise, FL — Onsite required from day one.
