Job Description

ROLE:

  • Welder Fabricator candidates must be able to read engineering drawings, understand tolerances, bend allowances, and be experienced in fabrication and sheet metal machinery.
  • Duties include welding and fabrication in stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel material (1.0mm – 12mm thickness), including pipework.
  • Ability to make assembly weld fixtures.
  • MIG welding both sub and main assemblies, either on a fabrication jig or freehand.
  • Sanding or grinding components or assemblies to achieve the stated dimensions and finish.

Requirements:

  • The role requires manual lifting, so applicants should be fit and able.
  • Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Significant experience with thin gauge TIG and MIG welding.
  • Sheet metal fabrication experience.
  • Ability to fabricate stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
  • City & Guilds qualifications in welding and fabrication, or an apprenticeship in engineering, would be an advantage.
