Job Description

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing the total revenue potential for Hyatt Centric Melbourne with a focus on acquiring new business and retaining and developing existing business. This role requires a proactive sales approach, effective inter departmental teamwork, and a strong understanding of the MICE, meetings and groups segments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through market engagement, networking, industry events, and strong client relationships.
  • Deliver revenue growth for MICE, meetings, and groups segments.
  • Manage and grow key accounts, agents, and client relationships to maximise conversion and long term revenue opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Management, Operations, and Hotel leadership teams to optimise pricing, availability, and overall commercial performance.
  • Ensure fast and high quality response to all enquiries, including delivery of proposals and contracts within 24 hours.
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversion, revenue performance, and customer experience through insights, feedback, and market trends.
  • Represent Hyatt Centric Melbourne in the market at industry events and trade shows.
  • Conduct site inspections, and external sales calls.
  • Plan and undertake entertainment for potentially productive accounts.
  • Achieve established monthly personal plan targets set in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Assist sales colleagues where required with account management and demonstrating Hyatt's selling techniques.
  • Ensure all reports and correspondence are completed accurately and punctually.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in hotel sales, business development, or conference/meetings & events.
  • Proven experience managing client accounts and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of the Meetings & Groups/MICE segment.
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Strategic thinking to utilising the hotel space effectively.
  • Goal driven with proven experience in achieving sales targets, acquiring and retaining business.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills used to build effective relationships with all stakeholders.
