Field Service Engineer – Forklift Trucks

Dewsbury | £16.50 Rising to £17.50 per hour after probation

We're working with a specialist business within the materials handling industry that is looking to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer to join its team.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who knows their way around forklift trucks, enjoys fault-finding and repairing equipment, and wants a varied role working directly with customers across the field.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks and materials handling equipment at customer sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks.

• Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.

• Responding to breakdowns and getting equipment back up and running as quickly as possible.

• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine inspections.

• Travelling to customer sites to carry out repairs and servicing.

• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant standards.

• Completing service reports and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

• Building strong relationships with customers and providing a professional service.

About You

We're looking for a hands-on engineer with experience repairing forklift trucks or similar materials handling equipment.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer, Field Service Engineer or Plant Engineer.

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.

• Experience working on forklift trucks, FLTs or other materials handling equipment.

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and industrial machinery.

• The ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.

• A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel to customer sites.

• A practical, organised and customer-focused approach.
