RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client in Cupertino, CA that is seeking a Senior Battery Electrical Simulation Engineer (Cadence & SPICE).

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Battery Simulation Engineer to lead the development and implementation of advanced battery and electronic system simulations within Cadence and SPICE environments. This individual will play a critical role in expanding the organization's simulation capabilities and serve as a subject matter expert on electrical modeling of batteries, chargers, power systems, and related electronic components. The ideal candidate will possess deep simulation expertise, strong academic credentials, and extensive experience translating physical battery and electronic system behavior into high-fidelity simulation models.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced electrical simulation models within Cadence environments
• Translate battery, charger, and electronic component behavior into simulation-ready models
• Build, validate, and optimize electrical simulations used by multiple engineering organizations
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external vendors to integrate simulation models
• Develop equivalent simulations across both Cadence and SPICE environments
• Advise engineering teams on simulation methodology, model accuracy, and best practices
• Analyze electrical system behavior using mathematical and physical modeling techniques
• Support the evolution and expansion of the organization's Cadence-based simulation platform
• Evaluate vendor-provided models and adapt them for use within internal simulation frameworks

REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related discipline
• Extensive experience developing simulations within Cadence
• Strong hands-on expertise with SPICE-based modeling and simulation tools
• Deep understanding of battery systems and associated electronic circuitry
• Strong understanding of differential equations and their application to electrical system modeling
• Ability to translate physical behavior into electrical simulation models
• Experience validating and correlating simulation results with real-world behavior
• Strong communication skills and ability to guide engineering teams on simulation strategy

Experience modeling:

• Batteries
• Chargers
• Power management systems
• Analog and mixed-signal circuits
• Electrical components and subsystems

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Experience working with lithium-ion battery systems
• Experience supporting consumer electronics products
• Experience developing model-based engineering workflows
• Familiarity with vendor-supplied electrical models and simulation libraries
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and influencing simulation methodologies

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
