Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer to design, build, deploy, automate, and support cloud infrastructure and managed services within Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, Terraform/IaC, cloud networking, DevOps, SRE, security, and monitoring/observability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Strong experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, including designing, implementing, deploying, and supporting cloud environments.
• 4+ years of Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience.
• Hands-on experience with Dynatrace and Splunk for monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, highly available Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services including:
  • IAM
  • Secret Manager
  • Cloud DNS
  • Cloud Load Balancing
  • VPC
  • Cloud Run
  • Cloud Functions
  • BigQuery
• Experience with Cloud SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with at least one programming/scripting language such as Python, Java, C#, or Go.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot existing application or automation code.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes / GKE and containerized environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles.
• Experience with cloud networking and security.
• Experience designing highly available, resilient, and disaster-recovery-ready environments.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience with cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Experience developing automation scripts and infrastructure tooling.
• Experience with APIs and cloud-based application integrations.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization and resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and support scalable Google Cloud Platform cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain Terraform-based Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Configure and manage Google Cloud Platform services, networking, IAM, security, and managed services.
• Implement highly available, secure, resilient, and cost-effective cloud environments.
• Develop automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and resource management.
• Support CI/CD, DevOps, and SRE practices.
• Monitor cloud environments using Dynatrace and Splunk and troubleshoot performance and reliability issues.
• Design and optimize cloud storage and database solutions.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, security, and data-retention requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, security teams, product teams, and other stakeholders.
• Support migration of on-premises applications and services to Google Cloud Platform.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and contribute to cloud modernization initiatives.
