Senior Google Cloud Platform Cloud Architect
Location: Remote

Role Overview
The Senior Google Cloud Platform Cloud Architect provides hands-on solution architecture leadership with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) while maintaining working knowledge of Azure and AWS. This role is responsible for designing, reviewing, and remediating cloud architectures while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security requirements, and governance practices.
The architect will support cloud architecture reviews, landing zone design, shared services, and enterprise cloud adoption initiatives across a multi-cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, review, and remediation of Google Cloud Platform-based cloud architectures, landing zones, and shared services.
• Provide architectural guidance across multi-cloud environments, with Google Cloud Platform serving as the primary area of expertise.
• Define and enforce architecture patterns related to identity, networking, security, governance, and operational excellence.
• Translate enterprise standards into scalable and repeatable cloud solutions.
• Conduct evidence-based tradeoff analysis across cost, resiliency, performance, security, and operability.
• Participate in and facilitate Technical Review Boards (TRBs) and Cloud Architecture Review Boards (CARBs).
• Review and challenge solution designs across Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and AWS environments to ensure consistency with enterprise architecture standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, DevOps, and platform teams on cloud modernization efforts.
• Support compliance, governance, and risk management requirements through practical architecture guidance.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT infrastructure, cloud, or solution architecture experience.
• 5+ years designing and implementing Google Cloud Platform solutions at enterprise scale.
• Deep expertise with:
  • Google Cloud Landing Zones
  • Shared VPC Architecture
  • IAM and Organization Policies
  • Cloud Networking and Security
  • Kubernetes/GKE
  • Cloud Operations and Governance
• Working knowledge of Azure and AWS architecture principles.
• Strong understanding of cloud governance, security, networking, and architecture review processes.
• Experience supporting architecture governance functions such as TRBs and design reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Professional Cloud Architect (preferred)
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or AWS Solutions Architect certifications
• Experience working within Cloud Centers of Excellence (CCOE)
• Exposure to FedRAMP, NIST, CMMC, or regulated environments
