Position : Operational Support
Location : Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Pay Rate : $40/hr W2 (no benefits)
Contractor Role Summary:
This position reports directly to the Chief of Staff to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and provides operational, analytical, project coordination, and administrative support across a broad range of technology, planning, governance, communications, and organizational initiatives.
The role serves as a trusted operational partner responsible for executing activities that enable the Office of Technology leadership team to operate efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include coordinating projects, organizing information, maintaining documentation, preparing executive communications and presentations, collecting and analyzing metrics, facilitating stakeholder engagement, managing administrative processes, and supporting strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously. Success in this role requires a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, strong follow-through, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct operational and administrative support to the Chief of Staff and CIO leadership team.
- Coordinate and track ongoing initiatives, action items, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple teams.
- Prepare, edit, format, and maintain documents, reports, presentations, briefing materials, and meeting summaries.
- Develop draft PowerPoint presentations, executive dashboards, status reports, and communication materials.
- Coordinate the collection of stakeholder input, feedback, reviews, approvals, and status updates as needed.
- Draft communications, announcements, updates, meeting agendas, and follow-up correspondence on behalf of leadership.
- Assist with meeting preparation, logistics, scheduling coordination, note taking, and follow-up actions.
- Monitor initiative progress and provide regular status reporting to leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Coordinate with business and technology teams to ensure timely completion of assigned activities and deliverables.
- Support governance, compliance, audit, procurement, vendor management, and operational reporting activities as needed.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned in support of the Office of Technology leadership team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Communications, Public Administration, Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience supporting technology organizations, IT leadership teams, or government agencies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting operational and performance metrics.
- Ability to organize information into clear, actionable, and professional deliverables.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work products.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively identify tasks, issues, and opportunities without requiring extensive direction.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Able to balance competing priorities.
- Excellent follow-through and accountability.
- Comfortable working in both structured and ambiguous environments.
