Job description

AI Developer (Python / Vue + TypeScript)

About the role

We're hiring an AI Developer to build intelligent tools into the platform that runs our entire operating workflow — from forecasting project budgets to tracking delivery through completion. You'll work in Python on the backend and Vue.js/TypeScript on the front end, turning machine learning and LLM capabilities into features that people across the organization use every day.

The team owns the end-to-end project lifecycle: budget prediction, resource and schedule planning, execution tracking, and close-out reporting. Your work will help leaders see cost and risk earlier, automate manual handoffs, and keep projects on time and on budget. This is a fully onsite role in San Francisco.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and deploy AI/ML features that forecast project budgets, costs, and timelines from historical and live project data.
  • Develop Python backend services and APIs (FastAPI, Django, or Flask) that serve models and integrate with the workflow platform.
  • Build responsive Vue.js/TypeScript interfaces that put predictions, alerts, and recommendations in front of project managers and finance teams.
  • Integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models) for document summarization, status reporting, and natural-language queries over project data.
  • Automate workflow steps across the lifecycle — intake, approvals, resource allocation, milestone tracking, and close-out.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines that clean, transform, and feed project, financial, and scheduling data into models.
  • Monitor model performance and accuracy in production; retrain and tune as data and business needs change.
  • Partner with finance, PMO, and operations stakeholders to turn business problems into shipped features.
  • Write clean, tested, documented code and take part in code reviews.

Required qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years building AI/ML or LLM-powered applications.
  • Strong Python skills, including data and ML libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Hands-on experience building front-end applications with Vue.js and TypeScript.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server).
  • Practical experience with predictive modeling, forecasting, or time-series analysis.
  • Experience deploying applications to a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and using Git-based workflows.
  • Clear communicator who can explain model results to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with project portfolio management, ERP, or financial planning systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday, Procore, or similar).
  • Background in building budget forecasting or cost-estimation models.
  • Familiarity with LLM frameworks and patterns such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, RAG, and vector databases.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to MLOps tools such as MLflow, SageMaker, or Azure ML.
  • Experience with Nuxt, Pinia, or other parts of the Vue ecosystem.
  • Prior work in workflow automation or business process platforms.
