Workday Extend Developer :: Remote :: W2 Position

Job Title: Workday Extend Developer / Consultant
Location: Remote – USA


Key Responsibilities

1. Custom Application & Workflow Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy custom applications using Workday Extend.
• Build Workday Extend applications to automate HR operational processes.
• Develop solutions to consolidate legacy HRSS tools into Workday.
• Automate employee offboarding and HR administration workflows.
• Collaborate with HR, business, and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

2. UI & Data Modeling

• Create dynamic page layouts using the Workday Extend App Builder framework.
• Design and configure user interfaces for HR applications.
• Develop and maintain custom objects, field components, and data models.
• Configure Workday Business Processes (BPs) to support business requirements.
• Ensure applications provide a user-friendly and efficient experience.

3. Workflow Automation & Orchestrations

• Develop and configure Workday Orchestrations to automate multi-step HR processes.
• Integrate Workday with other systems and applications as required.
• Reduce manual intervention through workflow and process automation.
• Troubleshoot orchestration and integration issues.
• Support testing and deployment of automated workflows.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Workday Extend.
• Experience developing applications using Workday Extend App Builder.
• Strong knowledge of Workday Business Processes (BPs).
• Experience with Workday Orchestrations.
• Experience with UI development and data modeling.
• Experience creating Custom Objects and field components.
• Understanding of HRSS / HR Service Delivery processes.
• Experience with workflow automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Workday HCM.
• Experience with HR employee lifecycle processes, particularly offboarding.
• Experience integrating Workday with third-party/legacy HR systems.
• Experience with HR technology modernization or HRSS tools consolidation.
• Knowledge of Workday security and integration concepts.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, HR Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Workday development/consulting, with strong hands-on experience in Workday Extend.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering Workday Extend applications from requirements through deployment.
