Senior Survey Scientist

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Survey Scientist for a contract assignment with one of our premier SaaS clients in San Jose, CA. Open to hybrid.
Responsibilities:

• Review customer questionnaires, sampling plans, and proposed analyses against the business questions they need to answer.
• Determine appropriate sample sizes for the intended comparisons, including key audience segments.
• Identify bias, measurement problems, and limitations that could undermine the findings.
• Lead research discussions with customers, explain tradeoffs, and recommend practical improvements.
• Own the scientific assessment of study quality and clearly communicate which conclusions the evidence supports.
• Work with the Simulate team to design credible comparisons between human and synthetic results.
• Turn recurring lessons from customer studies into survey templates, review criteria, and product quality checks.

Required Skills:

• A senior applied researcher with deep expertise in survey design, sampling, sample-size determination, and statistical analysis.
• Experience advising customer or business teams, explaining complex findings clearly, and influencing decisions.
• Relevant backgrounds include survey science, quantitative consumer research, marketing science, and survey methodology.
