Job Description

BP Energy is seeking a Development Systems Engineer to build, automate, and support the systems that power our trading, operations, and low carbon businesses. You will design secure, highly available infrastructure across on prem and cloud, implement CI/CD pipelines, and use Infrastructure as Code to deliver scalable solutions. Partnering with diverse global teams, you'll troubleshoot complex issues, enhance reliability and performance, and embed best practice security. BP offers a collaborative culture, strong learning focus, and clear growth paths across technical and commercial roles.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure systems supporting BP Energy operations and trading platforms.
  • Automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Collaborate with developers, trading, and operations teams to improve reliability, performance, and resilience.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot complex incidents, and drive root cause analysis and prevention.
  • Implement cybersecurity and compliance best practices across on prem and cloud environments.
  • Contribute to documentation, standards, and reusable patterns for systems engineering at scale.
