About the role:
The Western Health Central Sterilisation and Supply Department's (CSSD), Footscray has a vacancy for a qualified Instrument Technician with a minimum of 2 years' experience to join our team. Grading will be in accordance with the EBA.
The CSSD supports and provides a high standard of Sterilisation services to the Operating Suite, Endoscopy Unit and other internal departments.
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising of reusable medical devices in accordance with national standards and hospital policies
- Understand and apply the principles of sterilisation, disinfection and tracking in the CSSD environment
- Navigate the tracking system (Scancare) to support daily work requirements
- Understand and apply AS5369 to their daily work processes.
- Flexible in your availability
- Able to work in all areas of the CSSD
- Enjoy learning and contributing to the team
- Basic computer skills to support data input into the tracking system
- Able to work with minimal supervision and take direction from senior staff
