Position Title
Manufacturing Engineer Fabrication
1st shift 6- 2:30 PM OT hours needed if requested. Metatarsal safety boots are required on their first day.
Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the near future, for this position.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Manufacturing Engineer II located in Dubuque, IA, you will plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work supporting machining, sheet metal, and tool design processes. You will work in a team environment to develop and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and engineering solutions that meet established safety, quality, cost, and project requirements.

Analyze manufacturing information and define the methods, process steps, machinery, tooling, and equipment needed to support production

Design and continuously improve manufacturing processes and systems to achieve cost and quality objectives
Develop engineering solutions and coordinate feasibility testing to support solution development and validation
Support the development, application, and evaluation of engineering standards and specifications
Inspect engineering work, equipment, installations, or structures and recommend corrective actions needed to meet specifications and regulatory requirements

Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures and implement improvements through established change management processes

Coordinate activities with suppliers, subcontractors, and other external resources in accordance with established project and contract management plans

Support product development and engineering activities by analyzing customer needs and delivering appropriate manufacturing solutions

Manage assigned engineering activities within established project plans, schedules, and goals
Provide technical support and guidance to help others effectively use engineering and knowledge management systems

SKILL SET REQUIREMENTS
  • Manufacturing engineering experience involving machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, equipment, or related manufacturing processes
  • Ability to develop, implement, test, and improve engineering designs and manufacturing solutions
  • Experience preparing and applying technical engineering specifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex or conflicting information
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage work within an established project schedule
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with different audiences
  • Ability to make timely decisions and remain accountable for commitments
  • Knowledge of safe work systems, applicable policies, regulations, and risk-management practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production teams, suppliers, contractors, and other engineering functions

Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
Equivalent manufacturing engineering education, training, and relevant professional experience
