Job Description

About Scrumconnect Consulting

Scrumconnect Consulting is a multi-award-winning digital consultancy, recognised for delivering impactful and innovative technology solutions across UK government departments. Our work has positively influenced the lives of over 40 million UK citizens.

We are passionate about user-centred design, agile delivery, and building digital services that make a real difference. Our teams work at the forefront of innovation, helping organisations transform and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that truly matter.

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Delivery Manager to enable a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality digital services to help UK government clients solve problems and deliver value for citizens and the public sector.

You will work hands-on with the team, removing blockers, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring delivery cadence and predictability.

This is a hands-on delivery role operating within structured and governed environments where team health, transparency, and outcome focus are critical to service success.

This position will support a government digital payments project, which is building a new relational digital system between government services and an external organisation. The system will modernise how payments and related data are exchanged, processed, and reconciled between the two organisations, giving customers a more seamless, secure, and reliable service across digital and branch channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for the effective delivery of complex, high-risk products and services.

  • Lead delivery across a service or several teams throughout the product life cycle.

  • Be the main point of escalation for delivery issues, risks, and dependencies.

  • Engage senior stakeholders with strong, clear communication.

  • Coach and mentor more junior delivery managers.

  • Optimise the delivery flow of teams and identify innovative ways to unblock issues.

Required Skills & Experience

We're looking for:

  • Strong experience as a Delivery Manager on multidisciplinary agile teams.

  • Confident with Agile and Lean practices in production environments.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - technical and non-technical.

  • Experience maintaining delivery momentum and removing blockers.

  • Planning, governance, and assurance experience.

  • Experience with team dynamics and collaboration - building healthy team cultures.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience taking services through GOV.UK Service Standard assessments.

  • Coaching certifications (eg ICAgile, Scrum Alliance, Kanban University).

  • Multi-team delivery experience (Scrum of Scrums, LeSS, Spotify-style tribes).

  • Experience in regulated, security-conscious, or high-assurance environments.

Location and Working Pattern

Hybrid working: On-site presence typically 3 days per week.
Location: Swansea
Working pattern: 3 days per week on-site
