About the role

The Program Manager supports the Building Monitor by leading the office's work program, ensuring governance and statutory obligations are met, and managing reporting, projects, stakeholder engagement, policy and data analysis. The role provides expert advice, conducts research on systemic issues, and delivers insights and recommendations to improve outcomes for consumers while supporting a collaborative team culture.

  • Delivers projects effectively by turning strategy into structured programs, defining governance, managing risk and tracking performance to achieve outcomes.
  • Thinks strategically, engaging stakeholders and translating long term direction into practical plans and actions across teams and programs.
  • Builds strong stakeholder relationships and develops clear, evidence based policy and recommendations that align with broader organisational and community needs.
  • Uses data effectively to support decision making, drawing insights from complex datasets to inform current and future needs.
  • Leads and supports teams by fostering accountability, engagement, performance and alignment with public sector values.

Qualifications and experience

You'llbring:

  • Highly developed written communication and computer literacy skills, with the ability to simplify and clearly explain complex issues to non-technical audiences. (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience advising and negotiating with stakeholders on complex issues, including delivering programs in complex policy environments. (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering programs in complex policy and stakeholder settings (desirable).
  • Experience preparing briefings and presentations for Ministers to support decision making and gain approval. (desirable)
