Job Description

Network Protection Technician / Substation Commissioning Technician | Augsburg, Germany | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a leading European energy services provider, instrumental in advancing the energy transition through critical infrastructure projects. This employer is known for its commitment to sustainability and fostering a collaborative, innovative work environment. They are seeking a skilled technician to empower the future of energy in Southern Germany.

The Role

  • Oversee new build and modernization projects for medium, high, and extra-high voltage substations (up to 380kV).
  • Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control systems, driving process improvements.
  • Configure and parameterize high-tech protection and field control devices from leading manufacturers.
  • Conduct precise commissioning of digital protection and control technology using state-of-the-art testing equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with project management, planning, and installation teams.
  • Contribute to the green energy future by supporting projects connecting industrial, wind, and solar power parks.

What You'll Need

  • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering.
  • Proven expertise in protection/control technology, ideally with independent commissioning experience of switchgear.
  • Familiarity with common communication standards (IEC 60870-5-101/103/104).
  • Proficiency with configuration software like Siemens DIGSI 4/5 and Schneider MICOM S1, and testing software like OMICROM TestUniverse is advantageous.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, with excellent German proficiency.
  • Driving license (Class B) and willingness to travel (typically Monday-Thursday).
