Vice President, AI Risk

We are seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, AI Risk, to join our Technology Risk Management team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA. This strategic role will help build and sustain the newly established second line of defense AI Risk team. The Vice President will combine strong AI and risk subject matter expertise with practical experience working within a highly regulated industry to effectively implement the AI Risk program. The role will liaise across Risk & Compliance to close gaps on AI as a transversal risk in line with enterprise risk management and regulatory standards.

This exciting role entails one thing: helping build and sustain the AI Risk program across BNY. Activities include, but are not limited to:

• Help build, implement, and sustain the newly established AI Risk program and supporting operating model.

• Liaise across Risk & Compliance to identify and close gaps in the oversight of AI as a transversal risk.

• Address and support sustained execution across the risk management lifecycle, including risk identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring, and governance.

• Translate enterprise risk management principles and regulatory standards into practical AI risk requirements, processes, and governance routines.

• Apply practical knowledge of how banks implement risk management frameworks to support the successful build of the AI Risk program.

• Help create a framework that is sustainable while remaining flexible enough to adjust to future business environment factors.

• Partner with first and second line stakeholders to implement AI risk requirements and resolve cross-functional gaps.

• Use negotiation, leadership, and influence to align stakeholders and drive execution of new or changing AI risk requirements.

• Prepare clear reporting and materials for senior management and governance forums on program development, risk gaps, and execution progress.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in AI risk, technology risk, cyber risk, data risk, model risk, or enterprise risk management, including practical experience within a highly regulated industry.

• Strong AI, risk, and technology subject matter expertise supported by practical on-the-job experience.

• Foundational knowledge and experience related to how banks implement and sustain risk management frameworks.

• Experience working across the risk management lifecycle, including risk identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring, and governance.

• Proven negotiation and leadership skills, with the ability to build a sustainable framework that can adjust to future business environment factors.

• Ability to influence technology, business, and Risk & Compliance stakeholders without direct authority.

• Ability to translate complex AI and risk topics into clear requirements, decisions, and senior-management communications.

• A collaborative mindset and a passion for enabling safe, high-impact innovation.
