Job Title: Senior Java Developer (Backend Microservices & AWS)

Location: Wilmington, DE (2 Days Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Senior Java Developer to support critical transaction processing applications built on Java-based backend microservices. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on senior engineer with strong application development and system design expertise, capable of leading technical discussions, mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, and contributing to architectural decisions. This role requires experience developing scalable, secure, cloud-native applications in an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance microservices-based architectures and REST APIs.
• Develop secure, high-quality, production-ready code and perform peer code reviews.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams, and developers to deliver scalable solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and support cloud-native deployments.
• Improve application resiliency, performance, security, and operational stability.
• Work with event-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Participate in system design discussions and technical evaluations.
• Support adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools and development practices where applicable.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce recurring production issues.
